Parenting.?

does anyone want to give some good tips to a guy that is seeing someone with a nine month old baby?Parenting.?
I have a daughter, and I got back into the dating game after she was a year and a half old.

I think the first, most important, thing to realize is that you're dating a family. Women with kids don't do flings, and if she's let you into her (and her kid's) life, you're a priveleged man. Don't take advantage of that, or play with her heart.

Second, at nine months old, disciplining isn't a huge problem yet, but if the relationship lasts you need to talk to her about what her ideas are about you being a discipliner in her child's world. I dated a guy for a month and he tried to discipline my daughter about something completely out there, with no prior discussion... didn't work for me at all.

Third, You have to know from the beginning what your role is supposed to be. Is she looking for a surrogate father? Or does she want you to be the child's friend, and have fun, without a huge responsibility sharing role? Does she want help with the child? Does she want you to share in the responisibility? Are YOU ready to do that? VERY important.

Don't lead her on, then run screaming as soon as the kid pukes on you. Being any kind of role model/parent is a BIG thing.

And last of all, include her child in plans. If you're dating her, you're dating the child too and it should be fun! Kids are a blast if you look at them that way. Don't be scared to have fun.

If you're serious about her, good for you....dating someone who's already a responsible, mature adult is a fabulous thing - if that's what you're ready for.Parenting.?
The best advice that I can give you is don't be afraid to offer to change a diaper. Really it's the little things and if you really like her then support her because having a baby and dating isn't easy. A good back rub or rubbing her feet or if you feel secure enough with the baby and you can tell she has had her limit offer to watch the baby so she can soak in a tub or take a quick shower. Trust me it really is the little things that get noticed.
yeah just don't be afraid of new experiences when it comes to the baby. be willing to help when needed. babies mom will really appreciate u for that.
I'm not sure what type of tips you're looking for. Nine month olds are mobile (usually) so have an area in your house that the baby can play and not get injured. Babies that age like simple toys they can hold, look at, and eventually will end up in their mouths. Also, board or soft picture books are a favorite. They like playing games like peek-a-boo or being talked and sung to.
The only advice that I could give you is to remember that this one you are dating does have baggage and that little one is very important in her life so learn to love and play with this child because they are little gifts and can be a handful as well. Enjoy your relationship with the both of them. GOOD LUCK!!!
