How does parenting style and culture affect a childs development?

Well they both really affect a kid. Divorced parents usually means a worse more depressed kid. If the parents are happy, the kids are usually happy. The style and culture also affect the child in many ways. How does parenting style and culture affect a childs development?
A theory is that there are three sorts of parent, authoritarian, authoritiative and permissive, authorative bring up best children as children are consulted and considered part of the team, however parents set boundaries that children have to abide to (Baumrind). Another theory is the social learning theory which contends that children mimic significant people (parents), so your parents behavior is reflected in the way you behave as an adult. Behavior that is seen as successful for the parent is copied by the child (Bandura).
