3 to 6 mths bubs needs stimulation as well. Talking to bubs, singing, letting it lie and wriggle around on the floor (just make sure there is nothing small around it could put in its mouth)
6 to 12mths a walker is good too, it strengthens bubs legs and they like to be in the sitting position to look around and interact with us. And you'll find that very quickly you become tuned in with bubs needs yourself. So dont worry, it's not so scarey after all. What can anyone tell me about parenting and responding the the needs of infants under one year old?
*They are totally dependent on YOU
*They need constant supervision
*You will need a heap of formula, nappies and wipes
*Patients and Consistency is the key
*Keep calm
*Baby only cries if something is wrong
*Only formula/breastmilk if bub is under six months
*Baby should have a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables if over six months
*Teething is a whole other issue!!
*A playpen can come in handyWhat can anyone tell me about parenting and responding the the needs of infants under one year old?
I recently saw a show that had this interesting research from a highly qualified doctor...... This seems like it may help you ease your tension when it comes to dealing with a young baby.
Good luck to you.

They need a lot of love and kisses and cuddles. It is hard to be a baby and they will rely on their parents for support and care. Play with them a lot and make them laugh. Baby Einstein videos are great for stimulating them (and you can have lunch! ) If they are teething, Baby Advil is magical. Baby Tylenol is good too but not as fast acting. If they are gassy, Gripe Water is good but could also be the diet of he breastfeeding Mom. Food allergies could also cause an baby to get a rash or cry. Go see a Doctor if you feel there is something wrong. As long as babies are fed, rested, warm and clean, they are perfectly content!! You can also find lots of info. on the Internet. I'm guessing you are a babysitter?? Kinda confused about this very broad question. Maybe ask it again with more details and we can help you out better.
