What aspects of parenting are linked with the development of young children? What effect do you think that different parenting styles have on a childs development? What aspects of parenting are linked with the development of young children?
Are you serious?!?!
I could talk literally ALL DAY about this.
There are about a MILLION examples of how parenting is linked with the development of young children...
And parenting styles have a HUGE impact on a child's development.
---
There are four types of parenting styles that I like to look at. These are:
(1) Authoritative
(2) Authoritarian
(3) Permissive
(4) Neglecting
Basically, without going into a lot of detail, Authoritative is the best style.
In the Authoritarian style, parents are like commanders. They give all instruction, without any say of the kids. It's very strict, and harsh. Permissive parenting style basically allows the kids to do whatever they want, when they want. Parents give in. Neglecting is close to permissive, and just as wrong. Parents may not even be there to support and give structure to the kids lives. Authoritative is best, being the middle ground. Parents have ultimate say, but kids can have say in decisions that are made.
Look up these parenting styles, as there is a lot of information out there about how the different styles are carried out, what effects they have on the children (developmental in MANY ways... P.I.E.S in particular), and how children under each parenting style grow up to act. What aspects of parenting are linked with the development of young children?
According to psychologists saying the words ';you are so clever'; is very harmful to young children. It has serious consequences to children in later life in terms of their education. By saying those words, the child believess that he/she will not be accepted by parents unless he/she always achieves the clever result in their work and thus forces them into arebelliouss stage, in which they lose interest in their education so never todisappointt their parents. Apparently the best thing to say to a child is '; you worked so hard'; so the emphasis is on the hard work and not on the result, thus a child in future will be more willing to put the hard work in!
OMG! EVERYTHING!!!!!
